L.A. Nocturne – Short Story Collection Review

L.A. NocturneL.A. Nocturne by Katherine Tomlinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This collection of short stories, centered around the paranormal activities in LA left me excited to see what else the author comes out with. Especially The Summoner’s Bells and Wild Caught. The originality that went into these stories is refreshing, and will cleanse your pallet of all the stereotypical vampire/ demon etc novels out there. She writes with fresh clarity, and her characters are fully developed, despite the short story format. Even without the extra word count of a novel behind the stories, the characters feel real and true. This is the hallmark of a great writer. I’m anxious to read what the author comes out with in the future, and I truly hope that some of these stories get developed into full length novels!
